Ribbons and Roses....

A good friend of mine recently gave me a bag full of some gorgeous feathers left over from her wedding decorations. I have been seeing some amazing feather fascinators around lately. Seems they are the big thing for hair accessories. I even glimpsed a lovely one on the head of one of the teens at church on Sunday.

So, I was inspired. I gathered up my favorites from the bag, combined them with some hand-folded roses and tada....

A gorgeous ribbon rose and feather fascinator. Sure to win over the biggest teen fashionista!!

Elfi!!!

I was cleaning/organizing my sewing stash this afternoon and came across some scraps from this adorable, and very hard to find I might add, Elfi fabric. There is just enough for 2-3 pairs of deco jeans!!! I know that I'll be deco-ing (is that a word??) a denim jumper for Joy's Easter dress with her fave fairy from the print. And it still leaves me 4 fairies and some flower butterfly scraps to add to coordinating fabric for a super cute pair of jeans or capris to celebrate spring!! Head on over to my facebook page for details!

Here are a few examples of past deco designs that I have done to give you all an idea of what can be done on your Elfi set!!

Pattern Testing..

I recently had the pleasure to test a new upcycle pattern by the incredibly talented Ashley of Lil Blue Boo. She is a wiz and if you aren't familiar with her work, get on over to the site and check out the goodies!
This is her new women's tunic pattern just released.
I LOVE LOVE it!

The pattern is so easy to read and she includes tips to get the pieced look shown below, or a solid skirt to the tunic.

The back features a comfy and modest racerback style.

I am sure that I will be making many more of these for myself.

Now if only my Washington weather will warm up enough to wear them! :)
